Summary
Jackson first studied archaeology as an undergraduate at the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª. Following a field school in the Rabbithole Mining District and a couple of field sessions in Montana and Utah, he earned his master's degree at the University of Montana, studying the Bicycle Corps, a 19th-century infantry unit. Since graduating in 2011, he has directed projects across the United States but considers the Great Basin his home. Jackson is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª, studying technological adaptation in the Great Basin. Beyond the ivory tower, Jackson works on the recovery of a howitzer lost during John C. Fremont’s 1843 expedition and writes terrible poetry.
