Research interests

Dr. Elie Hajj's research focuses on advancing pavement engineering through innovative, practical solutions that improve national infrastructure. He has played a key role in building world-class research infrastructure at the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª, securing significant national funding and elevating the Pavement Engineering and Science program to national prominence. His research interests include:

  • Advanced characterization and testing of engineered, sustainable paving materials and full-scale pavement structures under dynamic loading.
  • Numerical modeling and performance analysis of asphalt pavements, including responses to moving loads and superheavy load impacts.
  • Evaluation of pavement-vehicle interaction, focusing on the effects of pavement roughness and roadway characteristics on fuel and non-fuel vehicle operating costs.
