Summary
I earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies from DePaul University in 2018. After graduating, I spent time as research assistant in Meghan Midgley’s lab studying the impacts of prescribed burning on nutrient filtration in oak forest ecosystem soils. Also, I did several seasons as an environmental field technician, and 2 years as a wildland firefighter on a type 6 engine and a type 1 hand crew. Prior to attending the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª, I spent 4 years with USGS as a physical scientist working on installing a network of soil moisture stations in the Upper Feather River Basin and Lake Sonoma watershed areas.
Recently, I was awarded a Forest Health Research Program (FHRP) grant with Cal Fire. I will be working with Christine Albano modeling the impacts of treatment types on post fire debris flow and their effects on the Upper Middle Truckee drinking water supply. I am excited to continue research in the hydrological, soil, fire interface and develop solutions for natural disaster prevention. In my free time, I enjoy swimming and is looking forward to competing in nearby outdoor water swim races.
