Joan Metcalfe Cope award

Joan Metcalfe Cope worked at the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª from the 1970s until her retirement in the early 1990s. She worked in the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's office, the Math Department, the President's office and the Dean of Students office, was an avid promoter of the University and a Wolf Pack fan. A classified staff award has been established for employees pursuing higher education in her honor.

Who is eligible to apply?

Permanent Classified Employees of the 91·çÃùÄñ³ª @ .53 percent FTE or greater and employed for one year or more on the date the semester begins.

What does this award cover?

Course of your choosing subject to availability and department approval. Courses for audit or non-credit are eligible. Courses which are paid by another means (sponsorship, grant-in-aid, etc.) or are recreational are not eligible.

Awards are for tuition and student fees only.

How do you apply for the Joan Metcalfe Cope award?

Please submit the application, a letter stating why you deserve the award, and any supporting documents for review and eligibility to jill@unr.edu by the application deadline. The letter should follow the goal of the award. Deadlines are February 1 and September 1, dependent on available funds.
